Carpet

Why?

Just like your gutters and windows, having your carpet cleaned professionally prevents permanent damage and preserves its life. When soil is ground into the carpet with dirty shoes and the act of standing or walking, it creates small abrasions on the carpet fibers. In addition to wearing your carpet down, these abrasions prevent the fibers from reflecting as much light as they typically would, which is one reason why your carpet may still look dirty even after you vacuum it. Regularly cleaning your carpet can minimize your prevent this wear and tear. It makes you feel better about your home and maintains a healthier environment to live in.

When?

To keep your carpet clean and in good condition, many professionals recommend getting it cleaned once or twice a year. But, just like with windows and gutters, it’s not complicated. How often you clean your carpet depends on your unique situation and needs. The more you vacuum and the less you track dirt on them, the less you need to clean them.

How?

For medium to highly soiled carpet, hot water extraction, along with stain treatment, is an excellent way to remove embedded dirt and stains. This is my method of choice. Here is what you can expect during my process from start to finish.

  • First, I will do an inspection of your carpet and ask you several questions to:

    • Determine the type of carpet you have

    • Learn when the last time was that your carpet was cleaned

    • Discover any odor issues

    • Identify problem areas and stains

    • Determine the square footage of your carpet

  • On cleaning day I will:

    • Vacuum your carpet to remove the majority of the dry soil

    • Pre-Treat the carpet with spray that is designed to help breakup remaining soil from bonding to carpet fibers

    • Extract soil and rinse the carpet using my hot water extraction machine

    • Place protection under furniture to prevent it from touching wet carpet

    • Groom your carpet to remove wand marks and speed drying as needed

    • Treat any remaining stains
